The ALS Clinic at CoxHealth has received a gift of $30,000 from the Ozarks Neurological Foundation. This gift will be used to support patient care for services or resources the patients need but cannot afford. The clinic, founded six years ago this October, has now expanded to serving patients four times a month. “We are so excited to be able to offer this donation today and continue to help patients locally with the care they need. We know that the former option of driving to Kansas City for care was not a good option. This clinic has impacted so many lives and we are just grateful to be a part of it,” says Tyler Watskey, a founding member of ONF. Patients seen at the CoxHealth ALS Clinic have a full day and are seen by multiple disciplines including Physical therapists, Occupational therapists, dietitians, a Speech pathologist, case manager, ALS representative, ALS nurse and a Neurologist. “We are so grateful to organizations like ONF that help us continue our mission of giving our patients the highest quality of life and care,” says Lisa Potthoff, ALS Clinic Nurse Manager. The ONF hosts an annual golf tournament at Highland Springs to generate their gift. Mr. Watskey said, “We plan on continuing this effort and hope that we can grow our gift each year to support the clinic.” To donate to the ALS Clinic select the DONATE NOW button and put ALS in the text box.
