Raise the Barn Trivia Night Raises More Than $12,000 for Local Patients

Barton County came together for a spooktacular evening of fun, friendly competition and generosity at the second annual Raise the Barn Trivia Night, held last month in Lamar. The Halloween-themed event brought community members, businesses and Cox Barton County Hospital supporters together for a memorable night benefiting local patients.

Guests enjoyed an evening filled with trivia, a dessert auction and a live auction, with prizes awarded to the top three trivia teams. One of the evening’s sweetest highlights came when a homemade coconut cream pie sold for an impressive $450, making its generous buyer the big winner of the night!

Dr. John Alden served as emcee, sharing how the evening’s proceeds will support Bridge to Home, a program at Cox Barton County Hospital that helps patients access essential resources and services as they transition home after a hospital stay.

“Every dollar raised remains local to give our patients additional resources as they leave our hospital,” said Alden. “To know that someone who can’t afford a medication will receive it at no cost thanks to this event makes this night so important.”

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, sponsored, donated and participated, the event raised more than $12,000 for Bridge to Home. And the fundraising isn’t over yet!

The Mizzou basketball ticket raffle, part of this year’s Raise the Barn fundraising efforts, continues through December 1. Community members still have an opportunity to support local patients while entering for a chance to win.
