Positronic Lodging Fund Helps Patients During Difficult Times

A hospital stay or cancer treatment can be difficult enough without worrying about where to stay or how to get home safely. For some CoxHealth patients and families, lodging assistance can make a meaningful difference during an already stressful time.

From January through the end of October, 136 cancer patients requested help with lodging. Following radiation or chemotherapy, these patients felt unable to drive home safely.

To help meet this need, Positronic has established the Positronic Lodging Fund, providing CoxHealth patients with another resource when they need it most.

“Positronic invests in our community in so many positive ways. This $25,000 gift is another way they have committed to keeping our community healthy, strong and growing in positive directions,” says Chris Ijames, Senior Development Officer.

Lodging requests come from patients and families facing a variety of circumstances. CoxHealth case managers work with seniors who cannot drive in the dark, families who need to remain near a loved one in the hospital and others navigating unexpected medical situations.

The new fund gives case managers another way to help patients and families focus on what matters most: getting the care they need.

“Giving back to the communities where we live and work is central to who we are as an organization. We’re honored to partner with CoxHealth on this initiative, which will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those served by the program,” says Jay Sandidge, Positronic General Manager.

Through this gift, Positronic is helping CoxHealth patients and families navigate some of life’s most challenging moments.
