The new Sue Dalton Chemotherapy Infusion Center is set to open on January 10th. This expansion of chemotherapy services at CoxHealth has been made possible by generous donations to the CoxHealth Foundation from over 60 donors, including the lead donors Sue and Andy Dalton. Sue, a former cancer patient and her husband Andy, saw a need as the numbers of cancer patients has risen and wanted to assist in making this facility the best for those who will utilize it.
“We are beyond grateful for the generosity of the Daltons, and so many others. Cancer patients now have a place of great healing and great hope in this inspirational center,” says Lisa Alexander, Foundation president. “The donors have allowed us to take a vital service and make it outstanding in every way.”
In addition to more chairs, each patient pod now has visitor space, private television viewing, the option for open or closed curtain areas, a nutrition room, four private rooms for those who are highly immuno- compromised and access to the Hulston Cancer Center’s Healing Garden. Alexander said, “patients can now choose to take their chemotherapy treatment outdoors in the garden or view it from their therapy area.
