Memorials

When Charlie Chalender passed away, his family wanted to create a legacy for him by designating the CoxHealth Foundation to receive his memorial gifts. The donations received were gifted to the Area of Greatest Need and in turn provided for patients in eight different service areas of CoxHealth. Hundreds of lives were impacted. The family knew flowers would fade but memorial gifts to CoxHealth would provide a lasting tribute to their loved one.

To designate the CoxHealth Foundation for your loved one’s memorials contact the office at 417-269-7150. The CoxHealth Foundation is happy to provide all the information necessary for obituary notifications as well as providing memorial envelopes for the funeral home.

Once gifts are received the CoxHealth Foundation will notify the designated family with a letter that a gift has been made. The letter includes the names and address of donors. No amounts are ever given. The donor receives a thank you note and tax receipt for their generosity. Gifts can be directed to any area of CoxHealth including Cox College and Oxford Healthcare Hospice. Memorials may also be established as scholarships for any educational program within CoxHealth.

Honorariums

Donations can also be made to honor someone special in your life. An honorarium gift can be used to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or to congratulate or recognize a job well done. The CoxHealth Foundation sends the honoree a card notifying them that a gift has been made in their honor, and includes the name and address of the donor(s). No amounts are ever given. Honorarium gifts can be directed to any area of CoxHealth.
